Midwife IBCLC with two of her children

I am a California native from the San Francisco Bay Area and  found my way to rural Mendocino County for its beauty and tranquility.

I have three kids, two born under the care of midwives at home. I  chose midwifery care  to increase my chances of having a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), which is statistically more likely with midwife-attended birth. I have sought to pay it forward ever since.

Since 2008 I have supported birthing people through pregnancy, birth and postpartum in  home, hospital and in a community birth center.  I am a Licensed Midwife and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.  I earned a Master of Arts in Maternal Child Healthy Systems and a Bachelor's Degree in the Science of Midwifery.

I  love seeing clients evolve watching people transform into parents, and kids become siblings. I love working with my community of midwives. But more than all that, I love seeing individuals take an active role in their pregnancies and births.

The Midwifery Philosophy centers on the birthing person and their family, in their health and well being and in their autonomous role as the decision-maker in their care.  Of course, midwives do our jobs by being skilled, educated and in educating our clients so they may make evidence informed decisions.

My goals in working in this field is to be there for my clients,  to treat people with kindness  and compassion, and to share  evidence based information so clients can make decisions about their health. I strive for excellence in care, and humility and inclusivity in my practice.

To make the change our world needs,  over the last two decades, I've worked with and volunteered for advocacy groups, coalitions and grassroots organizations like the International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN), California Families for Access to Midwives (CFAM), California Association of Licensed Midwives (CALM), and Midwifery Access California (MACA).
